Attaching a disc bead to a chain or jump ring

Completed assembled disc This technique works well for a disc-shaped bead with holes on each side. I like attaching disc shaped beads to long necklaces made with beads and leather cord.

First, cut two lengths of thin wire to about 10 cm (3.9“). Push the fine silver wire through the hole and twist the wire once to keep it in place [1a].  Now make a coil with the one wire around the other [Step 1b]. Place the jump ring on the wire and use your round-nosed pliers to make a loop. Twist the remainder of the wire over the previous coil for a neat finish [Step 1c].

You can use this technique to attach a bead to a jump ring or silver chain. I frequently use this technique to attach beads to leather cord. Step 1d shows how it looks when you're done.
